A Historical Research on the Lives of the 12 Shia Imams PDF Author: Mahdi Maghrebi, PhD
Publisher: Mahdi Maghrebi
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 351

Book Description
After the demise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Muslims were divided regarding whom they should follow as their political and religious leader. The Sunnis followed the Prophet’s companions whilst the Shias followed the 12 Holy Imams chosen by God. The Shia Imams were from the lineage of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from his only surviving daughter, Lady Fatimah (SA). Successive Shia Imams lived amongst the Muslims for generations and guided them to the true Islamic teachings of the Prophet. All of the Shia Imams were respected by the Muslims for their spirituality, divine knowledge, and being the progeny of the Prophet. The Imams were a symbol of resistance against the injustice and oppression of the Umayyads and the Abbasids. As a result, the Imams endured many calamities and hardships. They were harassed, imprisoned, and martyred by the Umayyad and the Abbasid caliphs. This book reviews the lives of these 12 Holy Imams and provides an overview of their religious, social, and political achievements. Please visit our website at www.12shiaimams.com to find more about the Shia Imams including our recent videos.

Imam Mahdi

Imam Mahdi PDF Author: Khusro Qasim
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781775249283
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 216

Book Description
Renowned researcher Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin's blog has been visited by hundreds of thousands of guests from over 174 countries globally. The late Shaykh Nazim Al Qubrusi (d.2014), the Grand Shaykh of the Naqshbandi Haqqani Sufi Order referred to him on record as "one of closer ones to Mahdi (alaihi salam)." Regarding the exalted rank of the illustrious Twelve Imams of Ahl al-Bayt, Sayyid writes, "In light of the Hadith of (the Archangel) Jibrīl, also known as the Hadith of Ihsan, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) defined his religion as Islam, Iman and Ihsan. Based on the study of this Hadith, it is clear that according to the Holy Prophet ﷺ Ihsan is one-third of the faith of Islam. Unlike those who deny Tasawwuf, the Ahlus Sunnah are clear that the vehicle to taste the Maqam al-Ihsan is Tasawwuf, what is termed as Sufism by the people today. With that established, to answer your question, based on the teachings of the greatest leaders of Sufism throughout history, including Shaykh al-Akbar Muhiyuddin Ibn Arabi and Jalaluddin Rumi, the Illustrious Twelve Imams (may Allah be well pleased with them all) are the Qutbul-Aqtab of Tasawwuf, meaning the highest ranking Saints of Sufism, under whose shelter every Wali attained his Wiliyah, and each Muslim is able to approach or even reach the state of Ihsan. Without them, there is no Tasawwuf, and without Tasawwuf, there is no Ihsan. Ihsan is one-third of the faith, and hence, belief in the Twelve Imams is in reality, one-third of the faith!"

The Assassins of Alamut

The Assassins of Alamut PDF Author: Anthony Campbell
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 140920863X
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 144

Book Description
The Assassins were a heretical Muslim sect.We think of them mostly in connection with political murder (their founder, Hasan-i-Sabbah, has been compared to Osama bin Laden), but there is much more to them than this. They had a remarkable esoteric philosophical system and their ideas were influential in Islam and even outside it. In this book I tell their story, from their foundation at the end of the eleventh century to their downfall 150 years later at the hands of the Mongols. Even that was not the end of them, for the Aga Khan is a lineal descendant of the Assassin Grand Masters.

The Rule is for None but Allah

The Rule is for None but Allah PDF Author: Joana Cook
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0197766730
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 498

Book Description
The last four decades have been shaped by the rise of Islamist politics across significant swathes of the globe. Whether by gun or by ballot box, various Islamist movements-from as far and wide as the Malian desert and Indonesia's archipelagos-have sought to obtain power and govern territories, in a bid to revive an Islamic ancient regime. With the regional privations produced by the 'War on Terror' and the political unrest following 2011's Arab uprisings, the global march of Islamism has only accelerated in the twenty-first century. Building on an established literature on rebel governance, The Rule is for None but Allah examines fifteen cases from around the world to consider the different ways Islamists have approached and implemented governance; the challenges they have faced; and how they have responded to obstacles. It brings new detail and insights on a wide range of themes, including legitimacy, constitutionality and social-welfare activism. From the rise and fall of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, to Islamic State's attempts to create its own currency, to the dramatic return of the Taliban in Afghanistan, this edited volume from two leading scholars of contemporary terrorism assembles an enviable array of international experts to explore these pressing issues.
