Category : Body, Mind & Spirit

Pages : 273

Book Description
The Awakened Way combines deep spiritual wisdom and practical tools for living a consciously connected and divinely guided life, helping readers go from an emptiness that can’t be filled to a fullness that can’t be contained. The Awakened Way is the soul’s answer to your earthly challenges. This book invites you to live the awakened way, a path that embraces ancient wisdom and integrates it with the latest scientific discoveries about the nature of consciousness and the underlying reality. Many self-help books focus on our human nature. They miss the point that we are both human and a soul. They fail to teach us to shift our focus and access the Source of solutions that is always available and will never steer us wrong. The Awakened Way is a higher-self book that reorients your belief system and shows you how to approach life from the soul's perspective, where the highest answers lie. “A practical resource for many who are seeking a richer connection with lost loved ones and the spiritual realm in general.” — Eben Alexander, M.D., former Harvard neurosurgeon and author of Proof of Heaven, The Map of Heaven, and Living in a Mindful Universe

Book Description
In 2010 I became ill with Prostate cancer. Not a great year for me if I am honest but one that unlocked a, hitherto untapped passion for writing short stories. My wife, in a bid to relieve my boredom brought home an old laptop that just about had the ability to run a word processing program. I bashed away on it for hours and let my imagination run away with me with characters such as the nightmarish accuser that is Destiny Sails, to the seductive vengeance of the self appointed pseudo-deity, Alexis. One award, multiple publications and a podcast later I now find that I have amassed a small following of lovely fans from all over the world and an inability to stop looking for ways to incorporate my latent positive, and negative feelings into a story. These, however are my personal favourites, my babies and my therapy and ones that I hope you too will enjoy. There is a lot more of my work out there on the interweb, some of it in novella form and some of it under a different name, but all of them a jolly good read of I say so myself - Which I obviously do. I am free of cancer now, (Yea me) and now my life is built on the acceptance of difference, the inevitability of change and an alarming lack of cash. I do have a new laptop though, but where that came from is anyone's guess.

Book Description
She wed once for duty but will only wed again for love… For as long as she can remember, Eliza North’s heart has been in the possession of her older brother’s friend, Nicholas Emerson. But Nicholas has always been oblivious to Eliza, and when he bought a commission and sailed to war, she wed sensibly instead. Returned to her brother’s house a widow, she meets Lieutenant Emerson again and realizes neither of their feelings have changed. She accepts his request to chaperone his younger sister, Helena, hoping she might win his attention yet, with the assistance of the mysterious Mrs. Oliver and her guide for seduction. Nicholas Emerson could never aspire to wed the daughter of a duke, especially one so pragmatic as Eliza has always been. That she married for the whimsy love makes him wonder how well he knew Eliza after all. She is still the only woman who captures his attention, but he knows his injuries mean he can never marry. Still, he cannot resist the chance to request Eliza’s assistance with Helena’s second season, and the chance to share her company. Neither of them anticipate Helena’s wild behavior or their necessary alliance to defend her reputation. Entrusted with the manuscript of Mrs. Oliver’s advice on the seductive arts, Eliza puts its counsel to use, much to Nicholas’ delighted astonishment. How can he refuse the woman he loves, even knowing that he can never ensure her happiness? Caught between honor and love, Nicholas must accept his legacy from the war for this pair to have a future—is Eliza the woman who can heal his wounds forever?

While reading one is taken to a land of feelings and emotions found in poetry where one can personally experience these private sensations. The rhyme and rhythm change the mood and the beat of the heart. Each page will cause a link to the shadows of ones past. Sadness, pathos, love and joy herein intermingle. One has the sensation of life’s emotion roller coaster joy ride. I was born in 1928 and found an affinity to poetry from the time I could read. I started writing while in public school and have continued in the pursuit of the perfect poem. My working years were spent searching for an occupation I could enjoy and get paid for. Employed by the Canadian National Railroad in Fort Erie, Region Niagara I found my calling, locomotive engineer. In order to attain that lofty position I worked from the section gang up to fireman position and finally graduated to engineer. I ran steam locomotive engines in the days when railroading had lots of romance attached to it. I wrote poems about working conditions, fellow workers, locomotives, and any subject that caught my fancy. My years spent in cadet work and community service did not escape my pen. My life has been blessed with two fine children and two lovely wives. Death unfortunately took both my wives. Our end, my friend!

Book Description
Riding the Eye of the Hurricane, Piswyck, Lifesaver, and Miranda return to Carsonne, only to find the country torn by civil war. The roads across the mountains remain closed, food is growing short, and the Countess has put an exorbitant price on Piswycks head. Can the young Marquis unify his people, fight his way past abberant mythozooic monstrosities, and win against the dual armies of the corrupt tax collector Lomfroth and Kracmalnic the Mad? Read on, in this highly-humorous, action-packed and long-awaited sequel to The Particolored Unicorn. ***** Storm Wars thunders along in grand, exotic, picaresque style. The reader is swept up in the wake of the ludicrously entertaining adventures of the sexy young Marquis Piswick and his sardonic particolored unicorn, Lifesaver. Like most classical heroes Piswick has great flair, ingenuity and level-headedness, all of which he needs in a chaotic world fraught with deadly whimsicality. Its all about fighting, morality, mad invention, satire, blue wine and silliness. And monsters of course human and otherwise. Ive waited years for this book to come out. With a lot of modern fantasy being so drably serious, its bliss to have a cocktail like this: piquant with magic, frothing with romance, spiked with a salty wit.
