Edward Morton (b.1764) was probably born in Pennsylvania, but enlisted in the Revolutionary War from Augusta County, Virginia. He was pro- bably a son of Elizabeth (Armstrong) Morton, who later married Thomas Douglas and lived in Highland County, Virginia. Edward also settled in Pendleton (later Highland) County, Virginia and married Sarah Allison. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Washington, California and elsewhere.
