The Historic Houses clippings book includes photoccopies of many of the articles written by F.E. Lord which first appeared in the Queenslander from 16 Jan 1930 to 23 Mar 1933. As the name suggets, the clippings book contains articles on Brisbane homes of historic interest. However articles also are included on the following: Inventory and valuation of Fernberg; Insurance policy on Fernberg; 1893 flood in Brisbane; Ste Stephen's Cathedral; the suburb of Bulimba; the Observatory (convict-built Windmill); the Ashgrove School. The clippings book also contains an aphabetical index of houses and also a chronological index of the articles that appeared in the Queenslander. Although most articles come from this newspaper, other sources include, the Brisbane Courier, the Telegraph, the Sunday-Mail, the Courier-mail, the Redland News, and the Real Property Register.
