Hasta entonces habia dominado en las es cuelas, sin contradiccion notable, la teoria estetica de los platonicos, que afirmaba el valor absoluto, eterno y substancial de la idea de belleza a la cualdaban unos existencia de idea separada, mien tras otros-la consideraban como uno delos arriba tos o perfecciones del Ser, pero conformes todos en suponerla independiente del entendimiento bu mano que la concebia o que llegaba a vislum brarla.
