Boucher s'était engagé à écrire un exposé de la situation et des ressources du Canada il le fit en 1663 certaines influences empèchèrent la distribution du livre; c'est pourquoi celui - ci ne donna pas le résultat attendu. Ces influences ne sont pas citées nommément; mais, si l'on se demande à qui le crime profite, il est visible que les coupables furent les cent-asso ciés et les jésuites.
