Book Description
Living in a world that is grossly opposed to who you are, the bravest and most radical thing to do is to be yourself. And being a part of the LGBT+ community is just that - brave. 'Have Some Pride' is a collection of poetry and prose, celebrating the beauty that is being queer. Written by a sapphic (self proclaimed) goddess, Carola shares the feelings of fear and isolation that many LGBTQ+ people experience. But more importantly, she writes about being proud to be under the queer umbrella and being proud to be in the LGBTQ+ community.

Our Gay History in Fifty States

Our Gay History in Fifty States PDF Author: Zaylore Stout
Publisher: Wise Ink
ISBN: 9781634892575
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 408

Book Description
LGBT+ History Is American History In 2014, Zaylore Stout took a drive across the country. State line after state line, he found himself detouring to landmarks of the LGBT+ heroes and history in each new place. And so, like a travel guide through the LGBT+ past and present, Our Gay History in Fifty States was born. Encompassing all fifty states as well as Washington, DC, and island territories, Our Gay History in Fifty States documents the highs and lows of American LGBT+ history. In its pages, you'll learn about LGBT+ presidents and Two-Spirit warriors, the inclusive progression of the gay rights movement, iconic orange juice boycotts, and the true origin of vogue dancing. From the childhood homes of historical figures to the safe spaces of grassroots organizations, this book is filled with destinations for those on their own local or cross-country tours of the past. Sometimes, seeing yourself in history is all you need to validate your battle for the future. While we continue pushing toward a more inclusive country, the stories of Our Gay History in Fifty States remind us that LGBT+ history is-and will always be-American history. AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY Zaylore Stout is an attorney, community organizer, and an internationally published author. Originally from Southern California, he received his BA in International Business Management from California State University-Fullerton. He's a graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he was elected student government president. Zaylore founded his own law firm, Zaylore Stout & Associates (ZSA), with locations in Minnesota and California. Zaylore Stout & Associates was an inaugural recipient of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Business of Pride Award in 2018. Zaylore's advocacy outside of the courtroom has also been noticeable; he led the charge for the passage of a gender inclusion policy in the St. Louis Park school district and the implementation of ranked-choice voting in St. Louis Park. This made St. Louis Park the only suburb in Minnesota to pass these initiatives. AUTHOR HOME: St. Louis Park, MN

Category : Juvenile Nonfiction

Pages : 288

Book Description
★ “An indispensable and celebratory primer on the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ rights. An excellent resource that is as thorough as it is visually appealing.” —School Library Journal, starred review Like the original version, this new edition of Pride: The Celebration and the Struggle celebrates the LGBTQ+ community's diversity and the incredible victories of the past 50 years—but it also has a larger focus on activism, the need to keep fighting for equality and freedom around the world and the important role that young people are playing. The new edition has been updated and expanded to include many new Proud Moments and Queer Facts as well as a profile of LGBTQ+ refugees from Indonesia, a story about a Pride celebration in a refugee camp in Kenya and profiles of young activists, including teens from a Gender and Sexuality Alliance organizing Pride in Inuvik and a trans girl from Vancouver fighting for inclusion and support in schools. There is also a section on being an ally, a profile of a family with two gay dads (one of them trans) and much, much more! Praise for the first edition, Pride: Celebrating Diversity & Community “LGBTQ culture and rights are covered through the prism of Pride in this timely work...This attractive work will be welcomed by readers searching for guidance and hope.”—Kirkus Reviews “Informative...Positively festive in its attitudes and outlook, this book more than lives up to the word celebrating in its subtitle.”—Booklist “Upbeat and matter-of-fact...These stories, sad and happy, are where vulnerable preteen kids may see themselves.”—Quill & Quire “An excellent and necessary addition for all collections.”—School Library Journal

Pages : 104

Book Description
I salute you my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus with much love; peace be unto you in Jesus name. I write unto you by inspiration of God and not by the inspiration of self. By me allowing the Holy Spirit to have his way; God was able to use me as one of his writers to warn you about pride. Don't take it lightly because it is a silent killer, it will kill. Pride will cause you to be disobedient, arrogant; and the devil love a prideful vessel, so he can use it against God's people. So God is shining some light on that silent and deadly killer (pride). James 4:6-7 But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but give grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it) 7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. So resist the devil and all his ways; don't let the old devil set you up to get resist by God Amen.

This historical mystery contains two stories which gradually merge into one. One occurs during 2011, while the other takes place in 1863 during the height of the Civil War.
