Book Description
Excerpt from Secretary's First Report: Harvard College, Class of 1906 I submit to you, rather later than I had hoped, our first Class Report. This contains the history of our class while in college, statistics made up from the class lives, and other matter related to our undergraduate life at Harvard. In addition, the report contains a list of the present addresses and occupations of our classmates so far as they are known to the Secretary. The exact form of the report, which might perhaps have been improved by laying more stress on some parts and loss on others, is due to the fact that a Class Report is merely one of a long series of reports from all the Classes. Consequently it seems best to follow the precedent of previous reports in order that the statistical data may be uniform. The value of the reports, however, depends on their completeness. This can be attained only through the co-operation of all the members of the class in responding to the letters of the Secretary and in taking the initiative in volunteering facts about themselves. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.

Book Description
Excerpt from Secretary's First Report: Harvard College, Class of 1908 To the Members of the Class of 1908: This volume purports to be a compilation of statistics of our Class while in College, and its object is to bring you closer together by putting you in touch with the Class as a whole. Perhaps the record of those three or four years may seem to you now. more tlian it will ten years hence, a story of "Old, unhappy, far-off things, And battles long ago." But it is was an epoch-making period for most of us, and I trust you will find this record of it not without some value. That it is absolutely accurate I cannot hope, for there were during those years innumerable "far-off things" in progress, and countless "battles" fought, and the memory of them is as vague and intangible as if they had occurred in the time beyond which memory of man runneth not back, when there was no University Daily to record our achievements. For much of the accurate work herein our thanks are due to C. V. Imlay, '08, whose skilful and consistent effort has been of the greatest help to me in preparing this report. It is almost impossible to reach every member of so large a Class. From this ideal, however, we have not departed, and 711 out of our total of 752 have been heard from. The delinquents will confer a great favor by falling into line. That you keep in constant communication with the Secretary is the chief request to be made in this preface - whether by post-card or letter, by newspaper clipping or wedding announcement, or even by telegram if the importance of the news seems to justify such means in the eye of the proud parent. Book Description
Excerpt from Secretary's First Report: Harvard College, Class of 1907 You with the hope that it will prove an interesting record of our college course and a useful guide in following our class mates during the past year. In its preparation I can assure you that I have taken all reasonable pains to make it both accurate and complete. That I have partially failed in the latter respect you will probably note as you read the report. I wish to thank, however, the many classmates who have given faithfully and promptly the information sought, and those also who have gladly aided me in many of the smaller details of its preparation. Of the delinquents who have neg lected to answer all appeals for information, I can only ask a better response in the future. Book Description
Excerpt from Secretary's First Report: Harvard College Class of 1913 In the compiling of this report it has been the aim and desire of the Secretary to include every point relating to the career of the Class and its individual members through the four years of College life. Thanks are due to every man who has returned his Class Life properly filled out, for upon these are based the facts and statistics contained in the report. To the unceasing worker for the welfare of the Harvard Students, Adolphus Terry, much credit is due of this publication. In his hands may be placed the issuance of the first reports of future Classes for much in formation is before him, that can be reached in no other way, and his experience in the arrangement of the material is of inestimable value. In the matter of finances the Class, although not as strong as had been hoped, is on a sound basis, and with the accrued interest from the new Life Insurance proposition of 24 years' endowment policies to amount to there should be no reunion assessments. Altogether, the financial outlook is very promising. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
