In 1860 a book appeared called the 'autobiography of a Seaman (lord Dundonald, better known by the name of Lord Cochrane). It contained most unjustifiable attacks, not only on the honour of Lord Ellenborough, but on the honour of many other persons, including a number of naval officers.
