Statistical Programming in SAS

Statistical Programming in SAS PDF Author: A. John Bailer
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1000735427
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 331

Book Description
Statistical Programming in SAS Second Edition provides a foundation for programming to implement statistical solutions using SAS, a system that has been used to solve data analytic problems for more than 40 years. The author includes motivating examples to inspire readers to generate programming solutions. Upper-level undergraduates, beginning graduate students, and professionals involved in generating programming solutions for data-analytic problems will benefit from this book. The ideal background for a reader is some background in regression modeling and introductory experience with computer programming. The coverage of statistical programming in the second edition includes  Getting data into the SAS system, engineering new features, and formatting variables  Writing readable and well-documented code  Structuring, implementing, and debugging programs that are well documented  Creating solutions to novel problems  Combining data sources, extracting parts of data sets, and reshaping data sets as needed for other analyses  Generating general solutions using macros  Customizing output  Producing insight-inspiring data visualizations  Parsing, processing, and analyzing text  Programming solutions using matrices and connecting to R  Processing text  Programming with matrices  Connecting SAS with R  Covering topics that are part of both base and certification exams.

Soil Change Guide: Procedures for Soil Survey and Resource Inventory

Soil Change Guide: Procedures for Soil Survey and Resource Inventory PDF Author: U.S. Department of Agriculture
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 0359573665
Category : Reference
Languages : en
Pages : 272

Book Description
Many soil properties have changed and can change as a result of management, historical land use, or even natural factors, such as drought, interacting with land use. National soil survey databases currently include soil property information for the relatively static soil properties, such as texture, and also for properties affected by management, such as soil organic matter. The databases do not, however, distinguish the values of dynamic soil properties (e.g., organic matter, bulk density, infiltration rate) according to their land use, management system, ecological state, or plant community. ?Dynamic soil properties? as defined in this Guide are soil properties that change within the human time scale. Differences that may exist in these properties can affect the performance of the soil. Furthermore, some dynamic soil properties change very little in response to management and disturbances.

Coastal Navigation

Coastal Navigation PDF Author: Dominique F. Prinet
Publisher: FriesenPress
ISBN: 1525521233
Category : Transportation
Languages : en
Pages : 143

Book Description
Coastal Navigation for Class and Home Study is based on the notes prepared for students by the author during some 20 years of teaching navigation, initially to private or commercial pilots, and then to sailors and professional mariners. The book is copiously illustrated with graphics which explain chart projections, scales and symbols, and describe lights and other navigation aids. It demystifies the True, Magnetic and Compass Norths as well as problems of time, speed and distances, and explains how to plot courses and take bearings, or draw regular and advanced Lines of Position using the international system of labeling. The book further clarifies the use of vectors to easily determine the impact of a current on the boat speed and direction, and goes on to show how to evaluate tides and currents. The final sections describe the use of GPS and electronic charts, highlighting their limitations. Additional notes and explanations are given in the areas where students traditionally experience difficulties, as well as supplementary examples and exercises. The companion book, Coastal Navigation Exercises, offers all the exercises needed for practice.
