Writing in Britain at the turn of the 20th century, Jenner-Fust was a man experienced with farming and raising of livestock. Some breeds are very placid and calm in temperament, whether alone or in flocks, whilst others will only respond and obey a herder who is trained in their management. Certain aspects of raising sheep are universal: the birthing and weaning of lambs being one such process.
