Then follows a brief account of the papers of the West India Committee in London, after which follows, as the second main part of the volume, a body of descriptions, in alphabetical order, of the archives of the individual islands and of what they contain for the history of the English colonies and colonial system in America and of the relations of these islands to the United States down to 1815 (and, in a few cases, a little later).
