I left the Philippines in 1967 to live and work as Nutritionist in several Royal Lao Government Hospitals in Laos during the Vietnam war for six years from 1967 to 1973 when I migrated to the U.S. and became a U.S. Citizen in 1979. The Citizenship Council of Metropolitan Chicago honored me as Outstanding New Citizen of 1979-1980 for her deep concern for her fellow citizens and her belief that there is always a place for those willing to care and share. Presented September 17, 1980 observing Citizenship Day and Constitution Week as Proclaimed by the President of the United States. I hold a B.S. Degree in Home Economics. I am a License Dietitian Nutritionist in Illinois, a Certified Dietary Manager and Dietetic Technician Registered. I work as an Associate with Cynthia Chow and Associates, a Dietary Consulting Group based in Chicago, Illinois. Writing poems is one of my hobbies that include photography, taking videos, gardening, cooking and needlecrafts. Sorin Cerin's poetry contributes, through each new verse, through each new poem or collection, to the construction of such an autarchic (Autarky) spiritual system. Therefore, the poet's terminology has a precise intrinsic logic: when he says that any Cathedral of the Absurd is built with matter taken from death, when he writes about the Subconscious Stranger or the Frozen Words floating around us like thorns of ice, the meaning of these phrases must be sought within the mythographic system created by the poet, and not interpreted by extrapolation. Let us try, therefore, to decrypt the symbolic and narrative structure of this myth, in order to understand its meaning. The universe that the poet evokes in his verses is one of the endings of cosmic cycle, being, therefore, one of eschatological origin. There are, in it, "cemeteries of words ," "ruined cathedrals," cluttered dawns, which "crumble," or "broken windows of Heaven," in which "it rains with sharp shards, of moments." We will not find anywhere in the perimeter of this universe, which seems inspired by the ruins suspended in ether, of the Giovanni Battista Piranesi, no space of compensation or refuge, the ruin and the dispersion being ubiquitous.(Stefan Borbely)

DiPasquale’s study of John Donne, Aemilia Lanyer, and John Milton demonstrates how each of these seventeenth century English poets revised, reformed, and renewed the Judeo-Christian tradition of the sacred feminine.
