Book Description
This ebook contains all flashcards from our website, one every two pages. It is ideal for beginners and intermediate learners to acquire some of the most important initial words that make up the majority of everyday conversation. Various features like bidirectional listing make this flashcard ebook the perfect tool on your ebook reader to boost your language skills. This ebook is split into 4 chapters and contains a total of around 2000 vocabularies which you can also find on our website. Each of the words covers two pages. Page one represents the question in the form of the vocabulary you should translate. Page two delivers the answer with translation and additional information for that word if needed. To learn the vocabularies, simply go from page to page and study the words one by one. The 4 chapters in the book contain 2 sets of vocabularies, once learned from English to Georgian (chapter 1 and 2), and after that from Georgian to English (chapter 3 and 4). Within that, the first chapter has vocabularies ordered by topic whilest the second chapter has 1000 of the most common vocabularies you need to learn ordered by how often they are used in daily conversations. In addition to using this ebook, you can also go to our website and use the flashcards there to learn and test yourself. The most important part of using flashcards successfully is to use them daily. Studying 100 words a day every day of a week will have a much bigger impact than studying 700 words once a week. Once you know most words in a chapter, write down the ones you still have trouble with and concentrate on those few words several times a day. Once you have moved on to a later chapter, it is also good practice to come back to early chapters from time to time to make sure the easier words are still in your memory. Over time, you will figure out what works best for you. Good luck!

Georgia Odyssey
Author: James C. Cobb
Publisher: University of Georgia Press
ISBN: 0820335096
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 202
Book Description
Georgia Odyssey is a lively survey of the state’s history, from its beginnings as a European colony to its current standing as an international business mecca, from the self-imposed isolation of its Jim Crow era to its role as host of the centennial Olympic Games and beyond, from its long reign as the linchpin state of the Democratic Solid South to its current dominance by the Republican Party. This new edition incorporates current trends that have placed Georgia among the country’s most dynamic and attractive states, fueled the growth of its Hispanic and Asian American populations, and otherwise dramatically altered its demographic, economic, social, and cultural appearance and persona. “The constantly shifting cultural landscape of contemporary Georgia,” writes James C. Cobb, “presents a jumbled panorama of anachronism, contradiction, contrast, and peculiarity.” A Georgia native, Cobb delights in debunking familiar myths about his state as he brings its past to life and makes it relevant to today. Not all of that past is pleasant to recall, Cobb notes. Moreover, not all of today’s Georgians are as unequivocal as the tobacco farmer who informed a visiting journalist in 1938 that “we Georgians are Georgian as hell.” That said, a great many Georgians, both natives and new arrivals, care deeply about the state’s identity and consider it integral to their own. Georgia Odyssey is the ideal introduction to our past and a unique and often provocative look at the interaction of that past with our present and future.

Siblinghood and social relations in Georgian England
Author: Amy Harris
Publisher: Manchester University Press
ISBN: 1526130203
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 222
Book Description
This book examines the impact sisters and brothers had on eighteenth-century English families and society. Using evidence from letters, diaries, probate disputes, court transcripts, prescriptive literature and portraiture, it argues that although parents’ wills often recommended their children 'share and share alike', siblings had to constantly negotiate between prescribed equality and practiced inequalities. Siblinghood and social relations in Georgian England, which will be the first monograph-length analysis of early modern siblings in England, is primed to be at the forefront of sibling studies. The book is intended for a broad audience of scholars – particularly those interested in families, women, children and eighteenth-century social and cultural history.

Category : Language Arts & Disciplines

Pages : 734
Book Description
The Caucasus for its size can boast more languages than any other region on earth. Of the 40 or so native tongues Georgian is the most widely spoken (by up to 5 million, of whom 3 million are ethnic Georgians). With its own unique script, Georgian has been written since the 4th century and has a rich literature of all genres. Outside Georgia, however, it has remained virtually unknown and unstudied, its grammatical intricacies being discussed by a small but ever growing succession of foreign specialists. The present work represents the first Reference Grammar of this challenging language to appear in English and is the summation of 20 years of intensive study by its author.
