Wie in jedem Teilgebiet der Mathematik geht es darum, das Verborgene auf das Offensichtliche zurückzuführen; die Besonderheit der Geometrie ist, dass das Offensichtliche manchmal im wörtlichen Sinne vor Augen liegt.Ausgehend von der Anschauung werden räumliche Konzepte in das bereits vorhandene mathematische Gerüst der Linearen Algebra und der Analysis eingebettet. Der Weg von der Anschauung zur mathematisch exakten Sprache ist selbst Lerninhalt dieses Buches.
