Book Description
This text offers background in function theory, Hardy functions, and probability as preparation for surveys of Gaussian processes, strings and spectral functions, and strings and spaces of integral functions. It addresses the relationship between the past and the future of a real, one-dimensional, stationary Gaussian process. 1976 edition.

Selected Papers on Analysis, Probability, and Statistics

Selected Papers on Analysis, Probability, and Statistics PDF Author: Katsumi Nomizu
Publisher: American Mathematical Soc.
ISBN: 9780821875124
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 176

Book Description
This book presents papers in the general area of mathematical analysis as it pertains to probability and statistics, dynamical systems, differential equations, and analytic function theory. Among the topics discussed are: stochastic differential equations, spectra of the Laplacian and Schrödinger operators, nonlinear partial differential equations which generate dissipative dynamical systems, fractal analysis on self-similar sets, and the global structure of analytic functions.

Transmutation Operators and Applications

Transmutation Operators and Applications PDF Author: Vladislav V. Kravchenko
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 303035914X
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 685

Book Description
Transmutation operators in differential equations and spectral theory can be used to reveal the relations between different problems, and often make it possible to transform difficult problems into easier ones. Accordingly, they represent an important mathematical tool in the theory of inverse and scattering problems, of ordinary and partial differential equations, integral transforms and equations, special functions, harmonic analysis, potential theory, and generalized analytic functions. This volume explores recent advances in the construction and applications of transmutation operators, while also sharing some interesting historical notes on the subject.

Advances in Mathematical Methods and High Performance Computing

Advances in Mathematical Methods and High Performance Computing PDF Author: Vinai K. Singh
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3030024873
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 503

Book Description
This special volume of the conference will be of immense use to the researchers and academicians. In this conference, academicians, technocrats and researchers will get an opportunity to interact with eminent persons in the field of Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing. The topics to be covered in this International Conference are comprehensive and will be adequate for developing and understanding about new developments and emerging trends in this area. High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems have gone through many changes during the past two decades in their architectural design to satisfy the increasingly large-scale scientific computing demand. Accurate, fast, and scalable performance models and simulation tools are essential for evaluating alternative architecture design decisions for the massive-scale computing systems. This conference recounts some of the influential work in modeling and simulation for HPC systems and applications, identifies some of the major challenges, and outlines future research directions which we believe are critical to the HPC modeling and simulation community.

Stochastic Systems: The Mathematics of Filtering and Identification and Applications

Stochastic Systems: The Mathematics of Filtering and Identification and Applications PDF Author: Michiel Hazewinkel
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9400985460
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 655

Book Description
In the last five years or so there has been an important renaissance in the area of (mathematical) modeling, identification and (stochastic) control. It was the purpose of the Advanced Study Institute of which the present volume constitutes the proceedings to review recent developments in this area with par ticular emphasis on identification and filtering and to do so in such a manner that the material is accessible to a wide variety of both embryo scientists and the various breeds of established researchers to whom identification, filtering, etc. are important (such as control engineers, time series analysts, econometricians, probabilists, mathematical geologists, and various kinds of pure and applied mathematicians; all of these were represented at the ASI). For these proceedings we have taken particular care to see to it that the material presented will be understandable for a quite diverse audience. To that end we have added a fifth tutorial section (besides the four presented at the meeting) and have also included an extensive introduction which explains in detail the main problem areas and themes of these proceedings and which outlines how the various contributions fit together to form a coherent, integrated whole. The prerequisites needed to understand the material in this volume are modest and most graduate students in e. g. mathematical systems theory, applied mathematics, econo metrics or control engineering will qualify.
