Book Description
This volume attempts to map the frontier of school leadership, and map the directions in which it may move. A great deal of research on this subject is being conducted, but to date there has been no general examination of the frontier, nor has there been a serious assessment of the various alternative explorations which might be launched in the future. In this collection of essays, the first area of concern is the need for change in the role of leadership on the part of principals and superintendents, the second a corresponding need in the mechanics of administration, and thirdly, effective strategies to deal with greater public input in educational policymaking.
