The purpose of this report is to provide an overview and assessment of biophysical data, resource use, and trend information for the South Thompson-Shuswap portion of the Thompson River watershed in British Columbia, as the first stage of development of a salmon production plan for the Fraser River watershed based on the concept of sustainable development. The biophysical information includes channel instability ratings, possible effects of climate change, and description of the regional hydrologic regime. Resource use information is provided for forestry, water use, agriculture, human settlement, recreation, transportation and utilities, mineral resources and placer mining, water and air quality, and the impacts of resource use on salmon habitat. A habitat sensitivity assessment and resource use ratings for streams in the study area are also included. Appendices contain data sheets for each stream.
