From their views on (1) the present and future condition of commerce, (2) the defences of the United Kingdom, and (3) the influence of waterways in developing that commerce, and in adding the the security of the country in the event of war, those interested in the project will be able to arrive at a sound conclusion regarding its national utility and its prospective financial success. On the strength of the evidence of those authorities the case is respectfully submitted to the judgment of the press and the public.
