Book Description
Sweethearts and soulmates for 60 years, June and Leon Bernicoff had a lifetime of love and laughter together. We fell in love with them on Gogglebox, where their warmth, cheeky gags and unending love for each other shone through our screens. When Leon sadly died at Christmas 2017, after spending every day since 1955 with his beloved June, the nation was left heartbroken. In this nostalgic, beautifully written book, June looks back at their time together, sharing treasured memories of a life truly well-lived. She tells of their courtship as students in the 1950s - how they fought to marry despite their parents' disapproval, and just what living in 1960s Liverpool was like. Building a life together, creating a family in their loving home, Liverpool was a place Leon and June would never move from. They experienced their fair share of highs and lows, but always got through everything together. As Leon often reminded himself: 'As long as June's here, I'm all right.' *Previously published as Leon & June: Our Story*

Book Description
In the time honored tradition of such beloved novels as Bridges of Madison County, The Notebook, The Lost Valentine, and Class Reunion comes FOREVER SWEETHEARTS, a nostalgic and poignant tale of young love gone awry, second chances, and new beginnings. Taylor Holland, forty-six, is a professor of women's studies at Michigan State University. She has been married for nearly twenty years to a criminology professor, Paul Holland, and has a nineteen-year-old daughter, Audra, attending Oxford University. After ignoring the underlying tensions in her marriage, they come into greater focus when Taylor receives a phone call from a hot new reality television series that reunites old lovers, called Forever Sweethearts. She is invited to appear on the show with her first love and college sweetheart, Vaughn Mitchell. Taylor had not seen Vaughn in twenty-five years--not since he inexplicably broke off their engagement, leaving her devastated and disillusioned. Though wary of going down that road again, Taylor agrees to participate in the reality series' reunion in New York City. Taylor hopes that by doing so she can finally put closure to that part of her life, where feelings and frustrations had continued to linger. She had not counted on Vaughn's determination to "make things right" or her renewed attraction to him. Vaughn Mitchell, forty-seven, is a Harvard Law School graduate and corporate lawyer living in Chicago. Divorced with a twenty-year-old daughter, Nicole, Vaughn seeks out his first love for old times' sake, stirring up memories and desires neither can ignore. After reuniting on Forever Sweethearts, a reluctant Taylor begins corresponding with Vaughn by e-mail, leading to discovery, rediscovery, passion, promise, and the bridging of twenty-five years that were lost in time, distance, and regrets. Forever Sweethearts will remind readers of other heartwarming relationship novels written by some of today's bestselling authors such as Nicholas Sparks, Kristin Hannah, Richard Paul Evans, Danielle Steel, Nicholas Evans, and Jodi Picoult.

Category : Family & Relationships

Pages : 276

Book Description
Prior to his departure to serve as a Family History missionary in Salt Lake City, Frank wrote a poem about both the wonderment of his "call" and of what lay in wait for him. His concerns about his age and poor health were soon dismissed upon his arrival in the mission field when Frank noticed that there were many who suffered far more than he, thus inspiring a poem about the willingness of others to serve God despite major obstacles in their lives. He recited this poem as part of his three minute introduction and arrival speech to his missionary group, many of whom requested a copy. Working in the Genealogy Library, Frank helped in the restoration of books and assisted his wife as lab photographer. He continued to write poems as missionaries entered and departed the mission and was quickly dubbed the "lab poet." Instead of writing a traditional daily journal, his wife suggested that he write his feelings and thoughts through poetry. This challenge helped Frank occupy his mind in a positive direction while struggling with daily health trials and his poetry journal evolved into this book, a compilation of heartfelt, inspired and jovial poems.
