For All the People

For All the People PDF Author: John Curl
Publisher: ReadHowYouWant.com
ISBN: 1458784908
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 826

Book Description
The survival of indigenous communities and the first European settlers alike depended on a deeply cooperative style of living and working, based around common lands, shared food and labor. Cooperative movements proved integral to the grassroots organizations and struggles challenging the domination of unbridled capitalism in America's formative years. Holding aloft the vision for an alternative economic system based on cooperative industry, they have played a vital, and dynamic role in the struggle to create a better world. Seeking to reclaim a history that has remained largely ignored by most historians, this dramatic and stirring account examines each of the definitive American cooperative movements for social change - farmer, union, consumer, and communalist - that have been all but erased from collective memory. Focusing far beyond one particular era, organization, leader, or form of cooperation, For All the People documents the multigenerational struggle of the American working people for social justice. With an expansive sweep and breathtaking detail, the chronicle follows the American worker from the colonial workshop to the modern mass-assembly line, ultimately painting a vivid panorama of those who built the United States and those who will shape its future. John Curl, with over forty years of experience as both an active member and scholar of cooperatives, masterfully melds theory, practice, knowledge and analysis, to present the definitive history from below of cooperative America.

A New View on the Old Rugged Cross Are peace, joy, and significance on your wish list? How about redemption, forgiveness, the salvation of your soul? Each of these descriptors bring us to the main event: grace. Saving grace, God’s immeasurable gift intended for all. Regardless of accomplishments or station in life, despite sins of the past, anyone can receive the free gift of grace. Yet too often we take God’s incomparable gift for granted—despite the fact that God’s very Son paid for it with his body, breath, and blood. Understandably, we often find ourselves caught up in the daily routine of life, not taking time to reflect on the enormity of God’s mercy. So here’s a suggestion: give yourself the gift of a few moments spent in the world of God’s grace. Read pastor Max Lucado’s unique, stirring insights into God’s role as grace-giver. Spend some time reflecting on the gift of grace, in all its magnificent meaning. Let grace, the gift for all people, speak to you personally through these pages. For All People—Even You God loves you more than you can imagine. Is that hard to believe? Many of us consider ourselves unworthy due to past sins and mistakes, wrong turns and missteps., But God’s gift of grace is limitless. Though we are undeserving, he offers grace. Though we are weak in our faith, he extends strength through grace. God’s endless grace is a free gift. It cannot be earned. No matter who you are or what you’ve done, the all-powerful God waits for you to choose him, to choose life in his presence—here and in heaven. “[God] simply wants you home with him. And to bring you home, he offers you a gift. My prayer is that through these pages you’ll see his gift like you’ve never seen it. If you’ve already accepted it, you’ll thank him again. And if you’ve never accepted it, you will. For it’s the gift of a lifetime, a gift for all people.” —Max Lucado

Languages : en
Pages : 161

Book Description
This book offers inspirational guidance for any reader who yearns to live in a sustainable mixed-income community—and cares enough to do something about it. Rev. John Edgar, the founder of the United Methodist Church for All People and Community Development for All People, tells the story of laboring alongside low-income residents across two decades to transform the South Side of Columbus into an opportunity-rich community where everyone may thrive. Starting with an outreach ministry called the Free Store, people came together and launched the Church for All People, the most diverse United Methodist congregation in the nation in terms of the intersection of race and social class. Each year, direct service ministries provide over 35,000 individuals opportunities to touch grace and experience positive transformation in their lives. Having developed over 100 million dollars of affordable housing, Church and Community Development for All People is forging a radically inclusive neighborhood, where everyone can dwell in unity on a front porch for all people. The chapters in this book set forth key principles which shaped this journey, beginning with the affirmation that scarcity is a myth and all of us dwell inside a divine economy of abundance.

God’S Love for All People . . .

God’S Love for All People . . . PDF Author: Dr. Maxine Lee-Fatt
Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN: 1543443265
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 85

Book Description
This book has been an inspired work of love. It came to me early one morning as I was having coffee and meditating on the goodness of God and the many ways God is revealed to his human family (as I regularly do) in the magnificent creation he has provided for all his people. Whenever this tiny voice speaks to me in the extreme interior of my heart, I pay attention and I follow through with whatever is revealed. This has happened before in other areas of my life with amazing results. I pray that those who read this work may not only find it inspirational but will also recognize in their own lives the many ways God speaks to them and act upon the message revealed. We must respond when God calls us to a particular cause. If he calls us, he will show us the way however remote, however distant, or however difficult the call may seem to us. We are his childrenhis chosen peopleand he loves us beyond measure!

Pages : 162

Book Description
This is a reminder book from the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testament conformation. This idea came to me from God, and this is the way I was lead to do the book to get people back to reading the BibleGods Worda little at a time. People need to see and know how serious sin is, for sin is dangerous. Jesus Christ came and gave His life for sin, so that we can repent and be saved and live without sin and know what sin will do for us and where sin will send us. Sin will take you where you dont really want to go. Sin will make you stay longer than you really wanted to stay. Sin will make you pay more than you really wanted to pay. The wage of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord. To let the people know how serious sin is, it doesnt matter who you are or how much money you may have. If you are living in sin and die, you will spend eternal life in Hell to be cast into the lake of fire. This life is temporary, but our life after death is eternal. Where will you spend your eternal life?

God loves us with a perfect, unconditional love. It is an agape lovea love that is sacrificial, nonjudgmental, uncondemning, and unwavering. But God not only wants us to embrace this love he has for us, he also wants us to love both him and other people with the same kind of perfect love. In Gods Perfect, Persistent Love for All People, author Dr. Victoria Ireoluwa Amedu invites all of Gods children to take on Gods perfect, persistent love and to rely on it to help overcome all kinds of calamity, destitution, persecution, and hungerboth in our own lives and in the lives of others. Through both struggle and triumph, our loving God is always there to see us through lifes challenges and bless us with success. But he also gives us a command: This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you. No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends. (John 15:1213 AMP) Gods Perfect, Persistent Love for All People reminds us of Christs example and of his commandment, and just as God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son so that we all may be saved and have eternal life with him in heaven, we too must give of ourselves to share this love with our earthly brothers, sisters and all humanities.
