Book Description
In book 3 of Flin's Destiny and "The Earth Time Continuum," Raggleroot, an angry old man who has been imprisoned deep into the earth due to Flin's great grandfather, Hovgard, is determined to destroy the cathedral and all those in it with his deranged pits and seeds he has been engineering for decades. Meanwhile, Blade and his men have taken control of Clover Cavern, leaving the leprechauns to slowly lose their magical powers and at some point, they will surely die. But if you thought that was bad, the Earth Time Continuum which is the heart of mother earth, has been stolen and without it the earth, both down under and up top, will cease to exist. Is it destiny that this young man find and restore these lost treasures before it's too late, or will all come to an end?

Culture, Work and Psychology
Author: Pedro F. Bendassolli
Publisher: IAP
ISBN: 1641136340
Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 366
Book Description
This books arises from the observation that mainstream psychology, especially work and organisational psychology (WOP), suffers from critical limitations in its attempts to deal with the complexities of work as a cultural phenomenon. We can only mention a few examples here. In the WOP field, especially in Anglo- Saxon tradition, work experiences are seen through the lenses of traditional behavioural approaches, whereas culture is seen as a ‘software of the mind’, to use a popular definition found in this field (based on cross-cultural mainstream psychology). ‘Competences’, to take another example, are thought of as something that do or do not people have inside them. Suffering, like stress (a common work-based problem of our times), is considered to be dependent on a person’s personality, perceptions or as a set of behaviours triggered by facing an ‘objective’ environment. Even meaning-making process can be found to be defined from a WOP mainstream point of view: meanings are ‘social cognitions’ shared by people by means of unidirectional socialisation processes. Therefore, the goal of this book is to deliver to the reader a new and challenging theoretical and methodological tool box, inspired by insights developed from a broad cultural psychological perspective. Its focus is on the consideration of work and organisations based on core concepts developed inside cultural psychology. Therefore, it is designed to discuss potential extensions of these concepts to work psychology.

The Unselfish Egoist
Author: Joan Evans
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Essayists
Languages : en
Pages : 212
Book Description
"An egoist who devoted himself to others." Such was Chateaubriand's verdict on Joseph Joubert, intimate friend of Diderot and Fontanes, a man who contrived to remain a quiet thinker through the turbulent years of the French Revolution. His life was neither without passion nor devoid of incident; yet its interest ultimately depends upon his intellectual and emotional development and the delicacy and freshness of his judgment. It is still true to say of Joubert, as did a contemporary, that full of whims and oddities, he has an extraordinary hold over mind and heart; once he has taken hold of your imagination, is image is there like a reality from which you cannot escape. From the notebooks in which he recorded his thoughts, and from many of the letters which he wrote to his friends Joan Evans has written an intimate biography of remarkable man, set in Perigord, Burgundy and Paris in the years between 1754 and 1823." - Publisher's description.
