Measurements of the Differential Cross Sections for the Inclusive Production of a Photon and Heavy Flavor Jet

Measurements of the Differential Cross Sections for the Inclusive Production of a Photon and Heavy Flavor Jet PDF Author: Daniel J. Duggan

Book Description
ABSTRACT: This thesis presents the first measurement of the differential production cross section of a heavy flavor (bottom or charm) jet and direct photon at the Fermilab Tevatron. These measurements were performed using data recorded with the D0 detector from proton-antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy of sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. These results probe a kinematic range for the photon transverse momentum of 30 to 150 GeV and photon rapidity y

Book Description
This thesis presents the first measurement of the differential production cross section of a heavy flavor (bottom or charm) jet and direct photon at the Fermilab Tevatron. These measurements were performed using data recorded with the D0 detector from proton-antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy of √s = 1.96 TeV. These results probe a kinematic range for the photon transverse momentum of 30

Book Description
Inclusive jet cross sections in Z/[gamma]* events, with Z/[gamma]* decaying into an electron-positron pair, are measured as a function of jet transverse momentum and jet multiplicity in p{bar p} collisions at √s - 1.96 TeV with the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab in Run II, based on an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb−1. The measurements cover the rapidity region

Book Description
In this thesis the measurements of differential cross sections for the production of the $W$-boson in association with jets in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV are presented. The measurements are based on 9.0 fb$^{-1}$ of CDF Run II data (i.e., the full dataset). Only events in which the W-boson decays leptonically (i.e., W 2!ev and W 2![mu]v)and at least one jet is present are considered. The lepton candidates are required to have a transverse energy $E^{\ell}_T> 25$GeV and pseudorapidity in the range l.

Measurements of Jet and Multijet Cross Sections with the CDF Detector

Measurements of Jet and Multijet Cross Sections with the CDF Detector PDF Author:

Book Description
Recent measurements of jet and multijet production cross sections from p{bar p} collisions recorded with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) are summarized. First Run II results of the inclusive one jet cross section at (square root)s = 1.96 TeV as well as prospects for future extensions of this measurement are presented. We also studied the properties of three-jet events in Run Ib data at (square root)s = 1.8 TeV. All results are compared to predictions of Quantum Chromodynamics at next-to-leading order perturbation theory.
