FPI is a wholly owned government corporation managed by the Dept. of Justice's Bureau of Prisons. Created by Congress in 1934, FPI serves as a means for managing, training, and rehabilitating inmates. Under the trade name UNICOR, FPI markets about 150 types of products and services to federal agencies. The objectives of this report are to (1) develop and assess statistics on FPI delivery performance and (2) obtain the views of selected customer agencies' procurement officials on FPI delivery practices.
