Experimental Investigation of a Lightweight Rocket Chamber

Experimental Investigation of a Lightweight Rocket Chamber PDF Author: John E. Dalgleish
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Aeronautics
Languages : en
Pages : 20

Book Description
Experiments have been conducted with a jacketed rocket combustion chamber that was fabricated by hydraulic forming from sheet metal. Rocket combustion chambers made by this method have been used successfully. Runs with these combustion chambers have been made at over-all heat-transfer rates of 2.5 Btu per square inch per second with water cooling and also the ammonia as a regenerative coolant.

An Experimental Investigation of the Dual Chamber Rocket

An Experimental Investigation of the Dual Chamber Rocket PDF Author:
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 55

Book Description
An experimental investigation was conducted to determine the feasibility and practicality of the dual rocket motor concept. Cold flow studies were performed with the aid of a ground-test simulator which incorporated a telescoping booster cavity. The effects of booster cavity length, booster cavity shockdown pressure, booster/sustainer nozzle area ratios, and aft nozzle removal on thrust and performance were explored and discussed. (Author).

Wind-tunnel Investigation to Determine the Horizontal- and Vertical-tail Contributions to the Static Lateral Stability Characteristics of a Complete-model Swept-wing Configuration at High Subsonic Speeds

Wind-tunnel Investigation to Determine the Horizontal- and Vertical-tail Contributions to the Static Lateral Stability Characteristics of a Complete-model Swept-wing Configuration at High Subsonic Speeds PDF Author: James W. Wiggins
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Airplanes
Languages : en
Pages : 692

Book Description
An investigation was conducted in the Langley high-speed 7- by 10-foot tunnel to determine the horizontal- and vertical-tail contributions to the static lateral stability of a complete-model swept-wing configuration at high subsonic speeds. The results indicate that, in a general, Mach number effects within the range studied and wing effects on the tail contribution were small and the overall trends of the data of the present investigation agreed with those which have been established at low speeds.
