Introduction: Les informations médicales issues des médias sont nombreuses et les médecins généralistes sont de plus en plus confrontés aux questions de leurs patients concernant celles-ci. Les objectifs de ce travail étaient de recueillir et d'analyser l'expérience vécue des médecins généralistes face aux questions de leurs patients suite à la diffusion non contrôlée des informations médicales des mass média ainsi que leur ressenti quant à l'influence de cette information sur la relation médecin-malade, sur leurs pratiques et sur leurs prescriptions. Méthodes: Nous avons réalisé une étude qualitative et recueilli les données par enregistrement de trois focus group de médecins généralistes. Ces données ont été analysées par une méthode phénoménologico-pragmatique en retranscrivant les entretiens et en repérant les différentes catégories pour dévoiler l'essence du phénomène. Résultats: Selon les médecins interrogés. l'information médiatisée sur la santé est omniprésente comme produit de marketing fondé sur le sensationnel de qualité inégale et elle ne tient pas compte des caractéristiques du public. Ce type d'informations retentit sur le comportement, les pratiques du médecin généraliste et sur la relation médecin-patient de manière chronophage avec une complexification de cette relation pas toujours bien vécue. Toutefois, elle repositionne le médecin généraliste dans une démarche d'éducation thérapeutique du patient, source d'un vécu plutôt positif. Conclusion: Cette approche phénoménologique bien que complexe, serait utile dans la formation de futur médecin généraliste par sa compréhension des phénomènes et des patients
