Book Description
Existing Land Use Study: The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for determining the current population distribution and provide information for the land use plan, zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, and other development elements of the comprehensive plan for Waveland. The study includes the condition of structures, the current use of each parcel of land and the land use development pattern of the community. The collected land use data are analyzed to bring forth land development problems, and to determine the major factors influencing the future land use in Waveland. Neighborhood Analysis: The purpose of the Neighborhood Analysis is to show the existing conditions in each neighborhood, to project possible growth areas in each neighborhood based upon population projections and to reflect those services which must be developed in each neighborhood to serve the existing population as well as future population in Waveland. A determination has been made of the causes of existing blight. The recommendations developed in this report serve as a guide for clearance, rehabilitation and conservation of the land area in each neighborhood. Initial Housing Element: The purpose of the Initial Housing Element is to assist in the fulfillment of the goal of providing a decent home and living environment for every family in Waveland. This report analyzes the existing housing problems, identifies the obstacles to solving housing problems and suggests a comprehensive, coordinated and continuing housing plan and program to achieve this goal.

ISBN:
Category : Calhoun City (Miss.)
Languages : en
Pages : 62
Book Description
"The Initial Housing Element provides Calhoun City and Derma with a comprehensive analysis of all componenets of the existing housing supply. The study identifies specific housing problems and recommends action programs that may be adopted to increase the supply of standard housing. Needed improvements are scheduled over a three year period. The Land Use Analysis examines existing land usage within the Calhoun City-Derma Planning Area. The report reveals both acreage and percentage of land in each major use category and points out areas where future development problems may be encountered because of such factors as flooding, topography, and soil conditions. The Land Development Plan proposes a dimension and arrangement of future land uses to complement and accommodate anticipated growth of the planning area. It sets forth goals, standards, and development proposals to guide future urban growth. The major thoroughfare plan presents an analysis of existing traffic problems and needs and proposes a system of major and collector streets designed to alleviate present congestion problems and support future urban growth."--Bibliographic data sheet.
