This volume contains an account of the excavation of settlement and cemetery areas at El-Ashmunein during the second stage of the British Museum project at the site. From 1980 to 1990, the British Museum Expedition to the Middle Egypt conducted excavations at el-Ashmunein, the ancient mound of Hermopolis Magna.
