Le sentiment d'autoefficacité est un concept proposé par Bandura en 1986 pour désigner la croyance d'un individu en ses capacités. Selon la théorie sociocognitive c'est ce sentiment d'autoefficacité qui conduit l'individu à agir et à exercer un certain contrôle sur sa vie et son environnement. Lorsque ce sentiment est élevé, l'individu est réputé capable d'investir à bon escient ses ressources cognitives et motivationnelles dans l'atteinte d'un but. Les patients souffrant d'un trouble d'acquisition du langage écrit sont souvent exposés au cours de leur scolarité à douter de leurs capacités dans le domaine du langage écrit. Cette recherche tente de comprendre en quoi et dans quelle mesure leur sentiment d'autoefficacité s'en trouve affecté, de manière à essayer de dégager des enseignements pour leur prise en charge orthophonique. Une étude transversale a été menée auprès de 68 participants scolarisés en classe de 6e régulière en Loir-et-Cher et en Eure-et-Loir, dont 21 ayant des troubles de l'acquisition du langage écrit. Un questionnaire motivationnelleur a été proposé pour mesurer leur sentiment d'autoefficacité dans des tâches de lecture et d'écriture. Les résultats font apparaître une différence significative entre les deux groupes, le sentiment d'autoefficacité des collégiens de 6e avec trouble spécifique d'acquisition du langage écrit étant significativement plus faible que celui des collégiens de 6e sans trouble spécifique d'acquisition du langage écrit. Les implications motivationnelles dans la prise en charge orthophonique sont abordées, des pistes sont proposées pour renforcer ce sentiment d'autoefficacité en rééducation et au quotidien au bénéfice des patients.
