This manual was written as a practical guide for the operational use of the white amur fish (Ctenopharyngodon idella) as a biological control tool for managing submersed aquatic vegetation in situations where it is possible and practical. The instructions are based on extensive evaluation of the white amur in the Large-Scale Operations Management Test (LSOMT) in Lake Conway, near Orlando, Fla. Although massive amounts of data and subsequent analyses are available in other publications on te LSOMT, the information in this guide is a summary of pertinent results considered appropriate for a use manual.
