Introducción: Las pérdidas técnicas son inherentes al sistema eléctrico, debido a que todos los dispositivos eléctricos del sistema poseen una resistencia y al existir un flujo de corriente a través de ellos, se producen pérdidas de potencia por efecto Joule [1]. La integración en el tiempo de estas pérdidas de potencia produce las pérdidas de energía. La energía consumida por los dispositivos del sistema y que no es aprovechable, se denomina pérdidas técnicas. Así, las pérdidas técnicas en sistemas de distribución se deben a la disipación de energía en líneas, transformadores de distribución, acometidas y medidores.
