Epichlorohydrin Production from Propylene - Cost Analysis - ECH E21A

Epichlorohydrin Production from Propylene - Cost Analysis - ECH E21A PDF Author: Intratec
Publisher: Intratec
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 102

Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of Epichlorohydrin production from propylene and chlorine. The process examined is a typical dehydrochlorination process. This process involves three main steps: (i) chlorination of propylene to allyl chloride; (ii) addition of hypochlorous acid to the allyl chloride formed yielding glycerol dichlorohydrins, and (iii) treatment of the glycerol – dichlorohydrin mixture with a base, yielding Epichlorohydrin product. 99.9 wt.% Epichlorohydrin is obtained. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Rowe, C.E., 'Chlorohydrins', Chemical Processing Handbook, 1993 Keywords: 3-Chloropropene, Hypochlorous Acid, HOCl, Chlorination

Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of Epichlorohydrin production from crude glycerol. The process under analysis involves two main steps: hydrochlorination of glycerol to dichlorohydrins (DCH); and alkaline dehydrochlorination of DCH to Epichlorohydrin. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): EP Patent 2219779, issued to Conser in 2012 Keywords: hydrochlorination, dichlorohydrins, DCH, dichloropropanol, DCP, alkaline dehydrochlorination, CONSER, Dow, Solvay, KVT

Epichlorohydrin Production from Acrolein - Cost Analysis - ECH E41A PDF Author: Intratec
Publisher: Intratec
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 102

Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of an early stage process for Epichlorohydrin production from acrolein. The process examined is a non-commercial route based on Dow Chemical patents. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Acrolein, Dow Chemical, acrolein chlorination, aldehyde hydrogenation, alkaline dehydrochlorination

Epichlorohydrin Production from Propylene - Cost Analysis - ECH E22A

Epichlorohydrin Production from Propylene - Cost Analysis - ECH E22A PDF Author: Intratec
Publisher: Intratec
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 102

Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of Epichlorohydrin production from propylene and chlorine. The process examined is similar to Daiso's Allyl Alcohol route. In this process, propylene is subjected to direct oxidation and further hydrolysis to obtain allyl alcohol. This intermediate undergoes chlorination and, after a final step of alkaline epoxidation, Epichlorohydrin is obtained. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Allyl alcohol route, Daiso, alkaline epoxidation

Epichlorohydrin from Glycerol and Sodium Chloride - Cost Analysis - ECH E51A

Epichlorohydrin from Glycerol and Sodium Chloride - Cost Analysis - ECH E51A PDF Author: Intratec
Publisher: Intratec
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 102

Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of Epichlorohydrin production from crude glycerol and sodium chloride. The process under analysis involves the following steps: an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (brine) is decomposed electrolytically in a membrane cell, producing chlorine, caustic soda and hydrogen; hydrogen and chlorine react forming hydrogen chloride (HCl); hydrochlorination of glycerol to dichlorohydrins (DCH); and alkaline dehydrochlorination of DCH to Epichlorohydrin. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: chlor-alkali, hydrochlorination, dichlorohydrins, DCH, dichloropropanol, DCP, alkaline dehydrochlorination, CONSER, Dow, Solvay, KVT

Publisher: Intratec
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 102

Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of Epichlorohydrin production from chlorine and allyl chloride. This process is composed of an allyl chloride hypochlorination coupled with an alkaline epoxidation. Calcium chloride is generated as by-product. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: 3-Chloropropene, Hypochlorous Acid, HOCl, CONSER, Solvay, Spolchemie, Zachem, Dehydrochlorination
