Book Description
Standards of Performance for Electric Utility Steam Generating Units for Which Construction Is Commenced After September 18, 1978 (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Standards of Performance for Electric Utility Steam Generating Units for Which Construction Is Commenced After September 18, 1978 (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 Pursuant to section 111(b)(1)(B) of the Clean Air Act (CAA), EPA has reviewed the emission standards for nitrogen oxides (NO X), sulfur dioxide (SO 2), and particulate matter (PM) contained in the new source performance standards (NSPS) for electric utility steam generating units and industrial-commercial-institutional steam generating units. EPA proposed amendments to 40 CFR part 60, subparts Da, Db, and Dc, on February 28, 2005. This action reflects EPA's responses to issues raised by commenters, and promulgates the amended standards of performance. This book contains: - The complete text of the Standards of Performance for Electric Utility Steam Generating Units for Which Construction Is Commenced After September 18, 1978 (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition) - A table of contents with the page number of each section

Book Description
Hazardous Air Pollutants from Coal- and Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Hazardous Air Pollutants from Coal- and Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 This action responds to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Michigan v. EPA, 135 S. Ct. 2699 (2015), and explains how the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has taken cost into account in evaluating whether it is appropriate and necessary to regulate coal- and oil-fired electric utility steam generating units (EGUs) under section 112 of the Clean Air Act (CAA). The EPA requested comment on all aspects of its approach to considering cost through a proposed supplemental finding and on a companion Legal Memorandum available in the rulemaking docket. After consideration of public comments, the EPA, in this final supplemental finding, concludes that a consideration of cost does not cause us to change our determination that regulation of hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions from coal- and oil-fired EGUs is appropriate and necessary and that EGUs are, therefore, properly included on the CAA section 112(c) list of sources that must be regulated under CAA section 112(d). GAO reviewed the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) new rule on standards of performance for new and existing stationary sources. GAO found that (1) the rule finalizes the Clean Air Mercury Rule (CAMR) and establishes standards of performance for mercury for new and existing coal-fired electric utility steam generating units, as defined in the Clean Air Act section 111; and (2) EPA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
