Este libro, fruto de un Proyecto de Investigación, es el resultado del trabajo de un grupo de profesores de Traducción de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Al desear encontrar el equilibrio entre docencia e investigación, el grupo se plantea una serie de preguntas y retos que los ayudan a reflexionar sobre qué hacen y cómo pueden mejorar, para llevar a cabo una pedagogía activa basada en la traducción práctica y el entendimiento empírico. La intención del libro es servir de guía de estudio a los alumnos de los primeros años de traducción, sin olvidar a los autodidactas que deseen adentrarse en este campo. Si se logra despertar el interés de los lectores y que acudan luego a obras más especializadas, se habrá cumplido el propósito inicial.
