Aunque parecen inocentes, estas son cuestiones fundamentales que surgen de las relaciones entre humanos y animales no humanos y que permiten reflexionar, criticar, limitar, interpretar, ampliar o ironizar diversas bases del derecho de familia, penal, constitucional, internacional, del trabajo o comercial, entre otros. El asunto de los animales incomoda y cuestiona prácticamente todos los fundamentos del derecho. Al haber conceptos dormidos y sin discusión, existe el peligro de que parezcan inamovibles e inadaptables a las exigencias de los consensos sociales que amplían el círculo moral. En el caso de los animales, no basta con decir que no tienen cabida en ciertos ámbitos del derecho porque la ley no lo establece. Por el contrario, hace falta argumentar y persuadir sobre la exclusión o no de los animales de algunas ramas del derecho. Este libro es un aporte para consolidar los argumentos a favor del derecho animal en Colombia, que además invita a comentarlos y a disfrutar de la lectura.
