El presente volumen recoge, actualizadas, una parte importante de las comunicaciones presentadas en el II y III Encuentro de jóvenes investigadores en derecho de inmigración y asilo celebrados en Barcelona y Girona, respectivamente. La instauració d'un mecanisme estable de canalització de mà d'obra estrangera que acabe definitivament amb l'entrada il·legal i amb les regularitzacions suposadament extraordinàries continua apareixent com a fonament de l'última reforma del reglament d'estrangeria (RD 2390/2004) però probablement el més interessant és el que no s'aprecia a primera vista: l'objetivització dels criteris per a comprovar la situació de l'ocupació anticipa la revitalització del procediment general i ordinari d'accés al mateix, però al seu torn implica la desvitalització dels contingents com a mecanisme de canalització externa. Així mateix, alhora que aparentment es dificulta l'accés a l'ocupació des de territori espanyol es configuren generosament diverses possibilitats de legalització.
