The present investigation included the effect of 40,50 and 60kg seed rates per hectare with pure maize pure teosite and maize teosinte in ratio of 1:1, 2:1, 1:2, 3:1 and 1:3 in 3 replicated trial on yield, chemical composition and cellulose digestabality. The overall green yield produced by 50 kg rate per ha was highest among seed ratios T7 produced the highest yield. The lowest yield was produced by T1 (pure maize). The highest yield of dry matter also was produced by 50 kg/ha. Among the seed ratios highest and lowest yields were produced by T2 and T1 respectively. Maize was significantly better than teosinte in dry matter and crude protein composition. The acid detergent fibre content was higher in teosinte than in maize. The cullulose content was higher in teosinte than maize. In total maize and teosinte seeds may be sown in the 1:3 ratio at 50 kg seed rate per hectare.

Sexual reproduction is the predominant mode of perpetuation for flowering plant species.
