A ideia de escrever este livro nasceu do desejo de ampliar as reflexões sobre a formação de professores para a Educação Especial Inclusiva, a partir de uma experiência vivenciada no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação (PPGE) da Universidade Estadual do Ceará, quando ofertamos, no 1o semestre do ano de 2018, uma disciplina intitulada Fundamentos da Educação Especial/Inclusiva. O grupo de alunos tinha a heterogeneidade como característica fundamental, o que permitiu um rico espaço de diálogo e aprendizado. O desejo de compartilhar essas aprendizagens com outros professores, estudantes e pesquisadores que têm interesse na Educação Especial Inclusiva nasce da constatação de que muito se tem a dizer e a pensar sobre o assunto. Na concretização da obra, outras vozes somaram-se a dos participantes daquela turma, sendo convidadas, por nós, para compor este trabalho. Os autores, portanto, são oriundos de instituições de trabalho diversas, têm trajetórias de vida distintas, no entanto, encontram-se neste livro para partilhar suas vivências e reflexões. A obra é composta por nove escritos que abordam diversas perspectivas relacionadas à Educação Especial Inclusiva, possibilitando ricas reflexões sobre a formação docente e a educação dos alunos com desenvolvimento atípico em diferentes espaços e níveis de escolarização, dando-nos a certeza de que o debate sobre o tema é fértil e segue em construção. A multiplicidade de questões e debates que orbitaram em torno da formação de professores para atuarem na Educação Especial na perspectiva inclusiva anunciados nos textos evidencia a relevância social e a importância da temática para a educação brasileira. Nesse sentido, o livro provoca-nos a continuar o diálogo e, portanto, pensar e construir alternativas para enfrentar os desafios da caminhada em favor da inclusão educacional.
