Abbreviated Introduction: A primary purpose of this study was to develop basic economic information necessary to an understanding of the market structure of the Florida Sweet Com Industry. This included the development of quantitative measures reflecting the importance of types of organizations handling com, geographic sales and market areas, sales procedures and seasonsl effects. Determining the important interrelationships between these and other factors was a part of the purpose also. The secondary purpose of the study was to develop economic guidelines to decision making based on a theoretical economic model of the industry. Estimates of the demand elasticities for sweet corn were necessary to augment the use of these theoretical guidelines.
