Cette thèse se propose d’étudier le traitement des Dysfonctions Cranio-Mandibulaires et la place que peut y tenir l’ Orthopédie Dento-Faciale. Après des rappels sur les Articulations Temporo—Mandibulaires et leurs dysfonctions, nous verrons que le traitement des Dysfonctions Cranio-Mandibulaires reléve, d’une thérapeutique symptomatique qui tente de supprimer la douleur et, d’une thérapeutique étiologique qui s’attache à supprimer les facteurs étiologiques occlusaux. Dans ce but, des moyens réversibles permettent la recherche d’une position mandibulaire thérapeutique asymptomatique, qui sera ensuite conservée et pérennisée par l'occlusion dentaire. C’est à ce stade que l’Orthodontie peut se révéler un élément de choix pour établir une occlusion stable et fonctionnielle dans la position thérapeutique déifinie. Afin d’illustrer le rôle de l’Orthopédie Dento—Faciale dans la thérapeutique des Dysfonctions Cranio-Mandibulaires, trois cas cliniques seront présentés.
