Resumen: En el presente trabajo se busca afianzar el saber teórico-práctico mediante el diseño y construcción de un banco de ensayos para mecanismos manivela-deslizador. Con el fin de realizar el diseño y la construcción del banco de pruebas, el presente documento se divide en tres secciones: teoría asociada a los mecanismos, diseño y construcción, y por último, las pruebas. La teoría asociada se enfoca en el entendimiento de la cinemática de los mecanismos planos y sus diferentes aplicaciones, por tal razón se indican las formas constructivas de los mecanismos manivela-deslizador, tipos de análisis, vibraciones mecánicas, fallas habituales y el balanceo entre otros. El diseño del banco de pruebas inicialmente insinúa la pre selección del tipo de forma constructiva mediante la presentación de diferentes prototipos educativos, permitiendo la selección mediante un desglose comparativo donde se incluyen finalidad, detalles y balanceo de cada uno. Una vez realizado esto, se muestran los diferentes elementos que conforman los mecanismos con un análisis previo de cada forma constructiva seleccionada y sus criterios de dimensionamiento acorde con la teoría asociada, además cada uno de ellos cuenta con una simulación del comportamiento estructural del elemento bajo una carga determinada.

"El propósito del presente proyecto de grado es diseñar y construir un banco de pruebas para ensayos de esfuerzo uniaxial alternante completamente invertido, para estudios de falla por fatiga. Se construirá un prototipo con el cual, estudiantes de la ingeniería mecánica de la universidad de los Andes, podrán hacer pruebas de falla por fatiga en flexión rotativa; siguiendo el modelo de ensayo R.R Moore. Siguiendo una metodología iterativa de diseño, se elaboró un prototipo de la solución que fue simulado computacionalmente y que posteriormente fue manufacturado y ensamblado, hasta conformar el banco de pruebas.
