It should also be stated that the space devoted to an abstract is no indication of its relative importance, though some idea of the nature and value of the original article may be obtained from its length as indicated by the page reference. In citing references, no effort has been made to record all of the journals in which any given paper may have appeared. Where an article has appeared in more than one periodical, the more available publication usually has been given preference, even in cases Where the original article did not appear in the journal first quoted.
