Book Description
We have studied diboson events produced by p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using the CDF detector. Our observations of Z[gamma], WZ, and ZZ production are consistent with Standard Model predictions, and we set limits on some anomalous couplings.

Diboson Physics at the Tevatron

Diboson Physics at the Tevatron PDF Author: Mark S. Neubauer
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 4

Book Description
At the Fermilab Tevatron, the CDF and D0 detectors are being used to study diboson production in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV. The authors summarize recent measurements of the W{gamma}, Z{gamma}, and WW cross-sections and limits on WZ and ZZ production. Limits on anomalous trilinear gauge couplings are also presented.

Book Description
This book gathers the proceedings of The Hadron Collider Physics Symposia (HCP) 2005, and reviews the state-of-the-art in the key physics directions of experimental hadron collider research. Topics include QCD physics, precision electroweak physics, c-, b-, and t-quark physics, physics beyond the Standard Model, and heavy ion physics. The present volume serves as a reference for everyone working in the field of accelerator-based high-energy physics.

Study of the $ZZ$ Diboson Production at CDF II.

Study of the $ZZ$ Diboson Production at CDF II. PDF Author:

Pages : 197

Book Description
The subject of this Thesis is the production of a pair of massive Z vector bosons in the proton antiproton collisions at the Tevatron, at the center-of-mass energy √s = 1.96 TeV. We measure the ZZ production cross section in two different leptonic decay modes: into four charged leptons (e or [mu]) and into two charged leptons plus two neutrinos. The results are based on the whole dataset collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF), corresponding to 9.7 fb-1 of data. The combination of the two cross section measurements gives (p$\bar{p}$→ZZ) = 1.38+0.28 -0.27 pb, and is the most precise ZZ cross section measurement at the Tevatron to date. We further investigate the four lepton final state searching for the production of the scalar Higgs particle in the decay H →ZZ(*) →lll'l'. No evidence of its production has been seen in the data, hence was set a 95% Confidence Level upper limit on its production cross section as a function of the Higgs particle mass, mH, in the range from 120 to 300 GeV/c2.

Diboson Production Cross Sections at $\sqrt{s}

Diboson Production Cross Sections at $\sqrt{s} PDF Author:

Book Description
The increasing size of the data recorded by the CDF and D0 experiments at the Tevatron collider at (square root)s = 1.96 TeV makes the diboson physics program more accessible for probes of the electroweak gauge structure in the Standard Model. Here we summarize the most recent measurements of the diboson cross sections and limits on the trilinear gauge boson couplings.

Search for Non-standard Model Signatures in the WZ/ZZ Final State at CDF Run II

Search for Non-standard Model Signatures in the WZ/ZZ Final State at CDF Run II PDF Author: Matthew Norman
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 150

Book Description
This thesis discusses a search for non-Standard Model physics in heavy diboson production in the dilepton-dijet final state, using 1.9 fb−1 of data from the CDF Run II detector. New limits are set on the anomalous coupling parameters for ZZ and WZ production based on limiting the production cross-section at high s. Additionally limits are set on the direct decay of new physics to ZZ and WZ diboson pairs. The nature and parameters of the CDF Run II detector are discussed, as are the influences that it has on the methods of our analysis.
