Book Description
. I developed Type 1 Diabetes when I was 18 years old. I learned how to manage strict control of my blood sugars from an endocrinologist that I had at the Emory Clinic. Back then, the concern was to have HA1C under 7.0, due to possible diabetic complications later in life. I use a Medtronic Insulin Pump and the FreeStyle Libre. I test my blood sugars 8 times a day with a One Touch Meter. I have had diabetes for 41 years without any complications. My HA1C is 6.2. The book lists the five main strategies of controlling the disease: Eating Well, Taking the Correct Amount of Insulin, Exercise, Testing blood glucose often, and being under a good doctor's care. So far, I have been able to manage my disease and want to give back to others and share what I have learned that has worked for me. The book is my story and journey with living successfully with Type 1 Diabetes. I hope you will share this book with others so that they may benefit from what I have learned over these past 41 years.

Exercise and Diabetes

Exercise and Diabetes PDF Author: Sheri R. Colberg
Publisher: American Diabetes Association
ISBN: 158040507X
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 554

Book Description
Physical movement has a positive effect on physical fitness, morbidity, and mortality in individuals with diabetes. Although exercise has long been considered a cornerstone of diabetes management, many health care providers fail to prescribe it. In addition, many fitness professionals may be unaware of the complexities of including physical activity in the management of diabetes. Giving patients or clients a full exercise prescription that take other chronic conditions commonly accompanying diabetes into account may be too time-consuming for or beyond the expertise of many health care and fitness professionals. The purpose of this book is to cover the recommended types and quantities of physical activities that can and should be undertaken by all individuals with any type of diabetes, along with precautions related to medication use and diabetes-related health complications. Medications used to control diabetes should augment lifestyle improvements like increased daily physical activity rather than replace them. Up until now, professional books with exercise information and prescriptions were not timely or interactive enough to easily provide busy professionals with access to the latest recommendations for each unique patient. However, simply instructing patients to “exercise more” is frequently not motivating or informative enough to get them regularly or safely active. This book is changing all that with its up-to-date and easy-to-prescribe exercise and physical activity recommendations and relevant case studies. Read and learn to quickly prescribe effective and appropriate exercise to everyone.

Diabetes Solved Naturally

Diabetes Solved Naturally PDF Author: Case Adams
Publisher: Logical Books
ISBN:
Category : Health & Fitness
Languages : en
Pages : 372

Book Description
This book disproves much of the "conventional wisdom" about type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Recent scientific research has proven there are a number of natural strategies shown to control blood sugar and sometimes even reverse diabetes - both type 1 and type 2. Yes, that's right. Scientific research done by doctors and universities has proven there are natural strategies that can control blood glucose, boost insulin production, and boost insulin sensitivity. That is what this book is all about. Explaining what really causes diabetes and what can be done about it according to the latest scientific research. Diabetes is surging at an unprecedented pace, resulting in millions of deaths and disabilities. What really causes diabetes? Can we make changes in our diets and lifestyle to better control our glucose? Are there herbs and superfoods that help our bodies control blood sugar? Are there lifestyle changes that can help reduce dependence on insulin? This book gives the clear answers based on hundreds of clinical studies from renowned researchers and doctors from around the world. This book also shows the evidence proving that a number of strategies can significantly reduce type 1 and type 2 diabetes symptoms and even turn around insulin production and sensitivity issues. On top of this, this book also lays out commonsense natural strategies that have been shown to significantly help glucose metabolism. This book is for diabetes beginners and veterans, for the public and for doctors. Here you will find specific information on the best diabetes diet, and even information for making a diabetes logbook and even can be used as companion to a cookbook. The bottom line is our need for information. Information based on science, not anecdotal information - this person's opinion or that person's opinion - but hard scientific proof based on clinical studies. This book offers that kind of hard scientific evidence to a condition that has been the subject of anecdotal heresy. Get the facts, and talk to your doctor about this evidence. You will be surprised what you find out.
