A computer program and an associated optical measurement system are described which have been developed to aid the investigation of highway accidents. The described developments constitute the major components of a system which will provide a capability of processing and evaluating data, via radio contact with the operator of a time-sharing computer terminal, while the investigators are at the accident scene. Reconstruction produced by the computer program are compared with the results of staged collisions in the literature.
