Trajectory Planning for Automatic Machines and Robots

Trajectory Planning for Automatic Machines and Robots PDF Author: Luigi Biagiotti
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3540856293
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 515

Book Description
This book deals with the problems related to planning motion laws and t- jectories for the actuation system of automatic machines, in particular for those based on electric drives, and robots. The problem of planning suitable trajectories is relevant not only for the proper use of these machines, in order to avoid undesired e?ects such as vibrations or even damages on the mech- ical structure, but also in some phases of their design and in the choice and sizing of the actuators. This is particularly true now that the concept of “el- tronic cams” has replaced, in the design of automatic machines, the classical approach based on “mechanical cams”. The choice of a particular trajectory has direct and relevant implications on several aspects of the design and use of an automatic machine, like the dimensioning of the actuators and of the reduction gears, the vibrations and e?orts generated on the machine and on the load, the tracking errors during the motion execution. For these reasons, in order to understand and appreciate the peculiarities of the di?erent techniques available for trajectory planning, besides the ma- ematical aspects of their implementation also a detailed analysis in the time and frequency domains, a comparison of their main properties under di?erent points of view, and general considerations related to their practical use are reported.

Pneumatic Actuating Systems for Automatic Equipment

Pneumatic Actuating Systems for Automatic Equipment PDF Author: Igor Lazar Krivts

Book Description
Automation is quickly becoming the standard across nearly every area of manufacturing. Pneumatic actuators play a very important role in modern automation systems, yet until now there has been no book that takes into account the recent progress not only in the pneumatic systems themselves but also in the integration of mechatronics, electronic cont

Dynamic Modeling of Automatic Machines for Design and Control

Dynamic Modeling of Automatic Machines for Design and Control PDF Author: Juan Carlos Jauregui-Correa
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3031359429
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 194

Book Description
This book describes the design experience of automatic machines and the theoretical background for controlling them. Unlike the existing literature, it includes design concepts and their relationship with the dynamic behavior of automated devices, and links the dynamic response of the machine elements with the actuators that constitute an automatic machine. As such, it demonstrates that it is vital to properly model any automatic machine as a single system and find the final response to have a good design and control scheme. The introduction describes the background for designing automatic machines, their uniqueness in machine design, and the need to understand dynamic behavior. The following chapters provide the background for modeling multibody systems, examples of typical automatic machines, and the basis for determining the dynamic response of the most common actuators (motor, pneumatic, and hydraulic pistons and valves). The fourth chapter describes the dynamic response of the most common sensors utilized in automatic machines, while the fifth chapter includes the dynamic models of the machine elements that connect the actuators with the end effects (specific tools for each particular application). The final chapters contain examples of dynamic models for different automatic machines, including all the elements that affect the final response, and describe the simulation techniques (and their application to the examples) and the application of the transfer function for estimating the transient response of automatic machines.

Manufacturing Automation

Manufacturing Automation PDF Author: Yusuf Altintas
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
ISBN: 1139504630
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 381

Book Description
Metal cutting is widely used in producing manufactured products. The technology has advanced considerably along with new materials, computers and sensors. This new edition considers the scientific principles of metal cutting and their practical application to manufacturing problems. It begins with metal cutting mechanics, principles of vibration and experimental modal analysis applied to solving shop floor problems. There is in-depth coverage of chatter vibrations, a problem experienced daily by manufacturing engineers. Programming, design and automation of CNC (computer numerical control) machine tools, NC (numerical control) programming and CAD/CAM technology are discussed. The text also covers the selection of drive actuators, feedback sensors, modelling and control of feed drives, the design of real time trajectory generation and interpolation algorithms and CNC-oriented error analysis in detail. Each chapter includes examples drawn from industry, design projects and homework problems. This is ideal for advanced undergraduate and graduate students and also practising engineers.

Packaging Machinery Handbook

Packaging Machinery Handbook PDF Author: John Robert Henry
Publisher: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform
ISBN: 9781479274512
Category : Packaging machinery
Languages : en
Pages : 0

Book Description
Finally, a comprehensive book about packaging machinery. The Packaging Machinery Handbook is the first book covering the range of packaging machinery in common use. It includes chapters on filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, inspecting and more. The chapter on packaging line design provides a framework for developing a new packaging line from initial idea to production. More than 120 illustrations allow readers to see inside the machines and what makes them tick. A companion website at www.packmachbook.com includes links to hundreds of videos of these machines in action. The book is designed for the newcomer who wants to learn about machinery, for the package designer who needs to understand how their package will be produced and for the seasoned professional who wants a handy reference. What the experts are saying: Experience is the best teacher. But if you can't wait 10 years and don't want to learn the hard way, read John Henry's Packaging Machinery Handbook Through a fast-moving conversational writing style - from big-picture "here's why it's done" to nitty-gritty "here's how it's done" - John transfers his extensive packaging knowledge nearly as effortlessly as a Vulcan mind-meld. Lisa McTigue Pierce, packaging journalist since 1982 From his wealth of practical experience, John has put together a great resource for anyone who is thinking about buying a piece of packaging machinery or who is engaged in putting together a packaging operation. It will help even the most seasoned veterans avoid some common pitfalls. Larry Luciano, President, Luciano Packaging Technology John Henry's Packaging Machinery Handbook will be the definitive work he day it is published. This is the book we in the field will reach for when we need insight into packaging machinery. His technical integrity gives us a book of great utility. This book is first rate and badly needed. Automated Machine Learning

Automated Machine Learning PDF Author: Frank Hutter
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3030053180
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 223

Book Description
This open access book presents the first comprehensive overview of general methods in Automated Machine Learning (AutoML), collects descriptions of existing systems based on these methods, and discusses the first series of international challenges of AutoML systems. The recent success of commercial ML applications and the rapid growth of the field has created a high demand for off-the-shelf ML methods that can be used easily and without expert knowledge. However, many of the recent machine learning successes crucially rely on human experts, who manually select appropriate ML architectures (deep learning architectures or more traditional ML workflows) and their hyperparameters. To overcome this problem, the field of AutoML targets a progressive automation of machine learning, based on principles from optimization and machine learning itself. This book serves as a point of entry into this quickly-developing field for researchers and advanced students alike, as well as providing a reference for practitioners aiming to use AutoML in their work.
