Author: Lauriston Shaw
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781331942641
Category : Medical

Pages : 358
Book Description
Excerpt from Descriptive Catalogue of the Pathological Specimens Contained in the Museum of Guy's Hospital, Vol. 2: Morbid Conditions of the Liver, Pancreas, Spleen, Suprarenal Bodies, Urinary Organs, and Male Genitalia In presenting this volume the writers desire to record their indebtedness to Mr. Targett for having placed at their disposal his descriptions of the Malignant Growths of the Bladder, which have with little change been incorporated in the text. Mr. Targett has also shared with the writers the responsibility of determining the nature of the histological changes in the great number of preparations described in this volume which have been submitted to microscopical examination. It is believed that the abbreviated references to the Transactions of Societies and Periodical Journals will be easily understood by those using this Catalogue. For the benefit of strangers to the Hospital it may be explained that Insp. refers to the Records of Post-mortem Inspections kept in the Curator's private room, and that Surgical Reps. and Medical Reps. refer to the Clinical Records kept in the Surgical and Medical Registrars' rooms respectively. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.
