The purpose of this project is to prevent further seepage through the levee during periods of flooding. The area surveyed included a 91.5 meter (300 foot) top bank right-of-way as measured perpendicular to and riverside from the centerline of the levee between station 180/0+100 to station 181/2+50. Heartfield, Price and Greene, Inc. began background research for the project on February 1, 1983. On-the-ground survey was conducted between February 18 and February 19, 1983. Background investigations continued throughout the on-the-ground survey.
