L'ANSM (Agence nationale de Sécurité du Médicament et des produits de santé anciennement AFSSAPS) et la HAS (Haute Autorité de Santé) ont émis en 2008 et 2010 des recommandations dans le cadre de la prévention de la carie dentaire intitulées respectivement « Utilisation du fluor dans la prévention de la carie dentaire avant l'âge de 18 ans » et « Stratégies de prévention de la carie dentaire ». Certains facteurs à prendre en compte afin de mettre en place une stratégie thérapeutique cohérente pour la prévention de la carie dentaire manquent de lisibilité et de reproductibilité: - Le risque carieux individuel; - La teneur en fluor de l'eau consommée par le patient; - Le bilan des apports en fluor ou bilan fluoré. La prise en compte de ces facteurs par le chirurgien-dentiste omnipraticien ou à pratique exclusive nécessite une aide ou support. Il a donc été décidé de créer un outil informatique reprenant les différentes recommandations pour les synthétiser et pour faciliter la manipulation des différentes données. L'objectif de ce projet était de créer un logiciel assurant ces fonctions, simple, ergonomique, utile au praticien et utilisable dans le cadre d'un exercice libéral. L'outil a été évalué durant une période de deux mois par quinze praticiens.
