Cette étude concerne les problèmes d’analyse de la composition chimiques des nuages de particules atmosphériques par voie passive optique. Un modèle à l'ordre 1 de diffusion validé par un code de calcul utilisant une méthode de MONTE-CARLO a permis la réalisation d'un bilan radiatif spectral. Ce modèle a servi ensuite à l’élaboration d’un processus expérimental permettant la détection et l'analyse à distance des nuages composés de particules sphériques. Le processus expérimental s’applique au cas des nuages transparents et au cas des nuages opaques ou non soumis au rayonnement des fonds. Deux types de mesures ont alors été établis, l'une par transmission et l'autre par émission propre des particules du nuage. Dans chacun des cas l’influence de la concentration massique est supprimée par deux mesures simultanées à deux longueurs d’onde. Le choix de la première longueur d’onde correspond à la fréquence de vibration du groupement fonctionnel de la molécule à détecter. La deuxième longueur d'onde est choisie pour donner une dynamique maximale aux paramètres de mesure. Les résultats expérimentaux confirment les modèles théoriques en transmission et en émission propre. La validation a été effectuée pour un nuage d'eau et pour un nuage d'une huile (SF99) possédant une bande d'absorption entre 9 et 10 microns.
